The North Gloucestershire Railway operates its 2 ft gauge line along a 1/2 mile route based at the GWSR Toddington station.

 | 27th Apr 2005 | Portuguese metre gauge
A number of pictures of the extensive Portuguese narrow gauge system around Oporto which I came upon by chance in the summer of 1974. This marvellous system was steam powered at the time and many services were hauled by Henschell 2-8-2's and Mallet 0-4-4-0 tanks. Today part of the line has been converted to standard gauge and forms the Oporto excellent Metro system

The ‘Reseau Guerledan Chemin de Fer Touristique' railway in Brittany, France was built in 1978 by John Ellerton on the former standard gauge route between Carhaix and Loudéac but after two seasons and a litigation with the local authority the venture failed.
Some of the rolling stock is now running on the Evesham Vale Light Railway in the UK

A picture of the trackbed at the former Beddgelert station in 1972. A couple of pictures of the Welsh Highland at Portmadoc terminus in July 1983. Finally a visit to the line as it is today terminating at Rhyd Ddu. Unluckily on the day of my visit the SAR NGG16 Garratt had failed
